"Institute for Person-Centered Services"

Director: David Mee-Lee, M.D.

What is the "Institute for Person-Centered Services"?

The Institute for Person-Centered Services is an umbrella organization and a place ( both physical and virtual) which will offer a variety of learning experiences for certain individuals. Those individuals share the following aim and desire: to become a catalyst for change in their own work and for those with whom they work.

This Institute has been established for one main reason:
To be a catalyst in promoting the development of assessment, treatment and systems change that keep a person and their needs at the center of our work !

The words ('client-centered', 'empowerment', 'strengths-based', 'no wrong-door', 'consumer-driven' & 'customer-focused') often slide easily from our tongues. However walking the 'person-centered' talk is easier said then done.

To execute this, training is essential. Training via different vehicles. Training for different skill levels. Training which will convert our talk and theories into real change within our organizations. Training that is reinforced. Training that produces lasting results!

The Institute's first training offering took place July 2003.
It was a great success!

It was a "Supervisor- Intensive" training for a small select group of clinical heads and supervisors, who need their own training on how to supervise more effectively on the spot- in their own programs. Call and express your interest in Supervisor-Intensives in the future.
