Mini-Workshops
via the Telephone Would
you like to offer or receive training right in your agency or offices? No travel
required! Sample
options below explain how actual clients of Dr. Mee-Lee have creatively used ‘distance’
training and technology to achieve their objectives. Could you apply this to your
organization? Sample
Option 1 Client:
One large Managed Care Company with multiple offices in many states. Company’s
Objective: To provide training to its staff located in many different time
zones Delivery
Format: The training day was divided into a morning session and an afternoon
session. Dr. Mee-Lee delivered a 2-hour block of training, once in the morning
to one group of attendees, and again in the afternoon to a different group.
Each attendee received the workshop handout prior to the commencement of the telephone
seminar. The didactic portion of the seminar was given while participants had
their phones on mute. When it was time for Questions and Answers, participants
unmuted their phones. Sample
Option 2 Client:
A single treatment program Program's
Objective: To train its staff from ONE agency, without having to leave their
office complex. Delivery
Format: Agency staff gathered at the start time in a conference room
equipped with a good central speakerphone. Dr. Mee-Lee delivered the didactic
portion of his workshop material, but included more frequent breaks for questions
and answers. This more free-flowing process worked well as the group was small
enough to accommodate this style. This client played host by issuing an invitation
to several of their local treatment agencies to join them in this training. Since
they had a few “seats” open in their conference room they were able to absorb
a few more attendees from these agencies. Benefits
for the Client: -
Staff did not have to travel to a training
-
Improved relationships with community agencies
-
Cost efficiencies
-
Sharing cost by inviting local agency participation
